A 30-minute flight from Quito will take you to the city of Coca. Upon arrival, a 5-minute transfer will take you to the port on the Napo River, where you will board a comfortable covered motor boat that will take you on a two-hour trip to the Napo Wildlife Center.
On the way, you will enjoy a delicious box lunch and coffee while admiring the scenery and the birds accompanying you to the lodge entrance dock. Once there, we will disembark for a brief rest and continue on our way.
We will take a dugout canoe that will take us through a narrow creek on a magical 2-hour trip. Enjoy the beauty of the jungle landscapes and the animals that will come out to greet us.
Upon arrival in the afternoon, we will enjoy the beauty of Lake Añangu, along with a delicious drink, followed by a welcome briefing.
We start early to make the most of the day and experience life above the rainforest from a 36-meter-high canopy tower. Here you will see the rainforest in all its glory, from its base to the top of a huge Ceiba tree.
Admire the different species of birds flying through the treetops. From colorful tanagers and toucans to blue and yellow macaws fly by. Adorable spider monkeys and loud howler monkeys search for fruit in the nearby trees. This unique adventure will make you experience the Amazon in a very special way.
After lunch, we will hike through the primary forest, where you will learn about the role of plants, while some animals will join us along the way. After the hike, we will explore the lake and streams in a canoe for a chance to see a family of giant otters.
Early wake up to visit the parrot clay lick, which is located one hour from the lodge. We will arrive before the show starts to have a front-row seat to observe the 11 species of parrots, parakeets, and macaws that visit it daily.
Next, we will walk through the jungle to visit the Kichwa Interpretation Center “Kury Muyu,” managed by the women of the community, where we will learn about their culture, customs, and traditions.
On the way back, we will walk through a Terra Firme forest, where we will reach the second parrot clay lick, and if weather conditions allow it, we will see some more species.
We will return to the lodge in the evening to enjoy a delicious dinner.
Today we will walk along the Guangana trail, climbing up to 250 meters above sea level. This trail has a high difficulty and combines flooded and dry forests and swamps, but the great diversity of plants and the possibility of seeing collared peccaries is worth the effort. There is also the possibility of encountering jaguars and wild cats.
In the afternoon, we will navigate the Añangucocha lagoon and its adjacent stream, called “Cariañangu.” Along the way, we will appreciate the incredible flora surrounding this trail, home to spider monkeys, howler monkeys, giant otters, and many other species.
Today we will leave the Napo Wildlife Center in the morning, navigating through the beautiful creek to reach the Pañacocha Lagoon, where we will observe animals from this side of the Amazon rainforest as soon as we arrive.
Once there, we will receive an induction about this area, get ready to camp and have lunch; then, it will be time to go for a swim in the fantastic lagoon.
In this area, you will see the Igapó jungle, with chances to see macaws, sloths, squirrel monkeys, black-mantled tamarins, capuchin monkeys, anacondas, and much more!!!!
Discover this humid land, and keep your eyes open, as there are chances to see black caimans, different species of birds, and if we are lucky, even pink dolphins.
After a delicious dinner prepared by one of our Chefs, walk the jungle trails at night and discover how life in the jungle goes on.
Have a sweet rest, surrounded by nature, in our unique tents, where you will have the best comfort of the Amazon.
We say goodbye to the lodge and take a canoe trip back to the Napo River, where we will have the opportunity to observe more animals along the way. Upon arrival at the river, we will take a motorized canoe to Coca, where we will say goodbye to this wonderful place and take our flight to Quito.
